Republicans are twisting themselves into knots to deny election meddling even though they’ve been given clear evidence that it did happen and the culprit is Russia. But their guy won and they got the tax cuts for the wealthy passed, so they just don’t really care whether a foreign power helped them to get to that point. “Russia, if you’re listening,” is a quote from Donald Trump that will go down in history books, and of course, the evidence gathered by U.S. Intelligence agencies.
Recently, Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) had to walk his comment back after saying that he did not know whether Ukraine or Russia was behind the cyberattack on the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton campaign that resulted in the theft and publication of internal emails during the 2016 presidential campaign. That sort of rhetoric only boosts Russia and falsely gives credence to an already debunked conspiracy theory that his “president” has supported.
And now we have Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) who can’t answer a direct question about election meddling. Only a coward runs — and watch this girl run, not for office, but from a simple fucking question about whether it’s illegal for foreign governments to interfere in our election.

Yes, it’s illegal, you absolute walnut. Rep. Don Young (R-AK) ran from a reporter, too. Well, he ran after he headbutted the reporter’s camera, saying, “There ya go” then fled to the nearest elevator, which we will now refer to as Young’s safe place.
We get it. Their guy “won” the election so clinging to power is all they have left. Republicans should try clinging to the truth but in the age of Trump, that doesn’t seem to matter anymore. In mid-August, Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani claimed that “truth isn’t truth” and now we expect Republicans to say that running from reporters isn’t running from reporters. If the shoe was on the other foot and Hillary Clinton had won the election with Russia’s help, Republicans would have already gotten out the torches and pitchforks.
Republicans need to grow some balls or ovaries, then get a spine, stand up and stop rat-fucking this country.
