Trump’s Brother Is Reportedly “Very Ill” And Has Been Hospitalized In NYC

No word on his condition yet.

Donald Trump’s younger brother Robert has reportedly fallen “very ill,” according to sources with ABC News and confirmed by the White House. Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany told the news outlet that Donald and Robert “have a very good relationship,” something that should be apparent to anyone who saw Robert spearhead the lawsuit against Mary Trump, whose tell-all book about Donald’s rise to power broke single-day sales records for Simon & Schuster, the publishing house that released it.

The younger Trump — though not by much; Robert is 72 — was previously hospitalized in June, spending more than a week in the Intensive Care Unit at New York’s Mount Sinai Hospital. Although ABC did not confirm which clinic Robert was taken to, they did report it was in New York, so it can be presumed that it is back at Mount Sinai, where doctors would already be familiar with whatever condition caused him to seek treatment two months ago.

The president intends to visit his brother in the hospital, something that many Americans are not able to do with their own loved ones. However, it’s unknown whether he will change his itinerary today and delay his scheduled golf trip, for which he departs Joint Base Andrews in just about three hours from the time of this writing.

During the lawsuit Robert brought against Mary Trump, he expressed that he was “so proud of my wonderful brother, the president,” which looked to many like sycophancy — generally speaking, people refer to their siblings by their names, not their titles.

Still more on social media have speculated that Trump’s visit will be one of appearances, making sure that he publicly looks to be concerned about his brother’s welfare — and perhaps even to make sure that he’s mentioned in the younger Trump’s last will and testament.

We’ll find that out when we see whether he goes golfing first.
