Trump Is Going To Lose It After North Carolina Governor Rejects Trump’s Demand For A Full-Fledged Convention

He was hoping for the biggest Trump rally of all time.

If there’s anything predictable about Donald Trump, it’s that no matter what he’s doing, he wants to claim no one’s ever done it better, faster, more efficiently, earlier, or with a bigger show of strength, aptitude, cleverness, or glamour.

Oh, and that nobody’s ever had a bigger audience while doing it.

It’s that last part — the desire for attendance and ratings, or at least the opportunity to claim them — that actually pumps through the president’s veins. If he was sucked straight into hell and it was televised, he would be on Infernal News Network in an hour claiming it was the best, most-watched damnation of all time.

So when Donald Trump says he wants a great big Republican National Convention, he means it. Nevermind the fact that it’s technically a nominating convention and he’s the incumbent — thereby making ANY convention at all purely self-serving and a total waste of money — he wants glitz. He wants glamour. He wants the biggest Trump rally of all time.

In fact, Republicans have had the site picked out for nearly two years now. On July 20, 2018, the GOP officially selected the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

But two years ago, there was no such thing as the coronavirus, and nobody had any idea we’d need to account for the possibility that ANY large gatherings were mostly out of the question. Now Republicans are scrambling to keep the president happy with their choice, since Charlotte was the only city that even submitted a BID to be the host city.

Unfortunately for Trump, the Democratic Governor of the state, Roy Cooper, has just informed him and the rest of the Republican National Committee that there will absolutely not be a huge, 50,000-person event like what they’ve been envisioning.

In a letter to the RNC, Cooper explained that the “people of North Carolina do not know what the status of COVID-19 will be in August, so planning for a scaled-down convention with fewer people, social distancing, and face coverings is a necessity.”

Trump is not going to like ANY of that: Masks? Social distancing? NO HUGE CROWD?

Watch for another meltdown the instant Trump hears the news.
