In case you were wondering if Donald Trump’s ego could possibly inflate any further than it already has, I am here to tell you that the answer is a big, fat, resounding “yes.”
During yesterday’s Coronavirus Task Force Briefing, which once again consisted of a bunch of dimwitted idiots scrambling through a big bowl of word salad and an increasingly exasperated Dr. Fauci, one reporter asked Trump if he would be reaching out to any of his presidential predecessors (including George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, or Jimmy Carter) for advice or direction in the midst of the global disaster that is COVID-19.
But Donald was quick to fire back and make it very clear that he has absolutely no intention of doing any such thing — saying he hasn’t and does not plan to “bother” those that came before him as he just doesn’t think he’s “going to learn much” from them anyway.
“I think we’re doing an incredible job. So I don’t want to disturb them, bother them,” Trump responded to the reporter’s question during yesterday’s White House Cormonavirus Task Force briefing. “I don’t think I’m going to learn much and, you know, I guess you could say that there’s probably a natural inclination not to call.”
He then quickly turned to instead tout his approval rating regarding his administration’s handling of the virus and bragged about having “the best people in the world.”
Trump did wrap up by declaring that if he thought even for a second that he could garner any information or solid advice from one of his predecessors, he’d “make the call in two minutes.”
“But I don’t see that happening,” he added.
The truth of the matter is, Trump’s ego is bigger than his waistline and he’d let this country finish burning to the ground before he asked for help from any of those who came before him. He thinks he’s got it all covered. And even if he doesn’t, he’ll be damned if he lets anyone else know it.
