Trump Appears To Lose His Cool In Response To Obama’s Tweet About The Economy

We could see this a mile away.

As we all should have suspected, Donald Trump has once again been reading his predecessor’s Twitter account, fiendishly awaiting something, anything with which he might disagree.

If you’ve been following along today, it’s the 11th anniversary of the day that Barack Obama signed the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act, the legislation that unquestionably began the slow climb back to economic solvency from the brink of disaster that large investment banks brought our nation to. Today, President Obama tweeted about that in a thinly-veiled reference to the fact that Trump likes to take credit for all sorts of things that have nothing to do with him.

Get it? “More than a decade” — that means Obama understands that his economic policy has been responsible for growth well into Trump’s term. And when he says “longest streak of job creation,” it means he totally gets that you can actually graph the decline in unemployment that began with ARRA and it charts exactly the same up to this day, other than a slight slowing of economic growth since Trump was elected.

As expected, Trump totally took the bait.

As I’m sure you understand, literally everything in Trump’s tweet-pair is false. To even begin to compare the recovery overseen by Obama to the Depression is ridiculous, since our economy is now on an exponentially larger scale. But more importantly, the growth spurred by Obama’s stimulus has slowed under Trump’s leadership — he has yet to see the three percent growth in a single quarter that he predicted when he ran, even in one fiscal quarter of his presidency.

It’s okay, Donnie. Your fans will cheer you up, I’m sure. The rest of us will be over here in the real world.
