Following the blue wave that shook Trump’s world to the core on Tuesday, the “president” took to his Twitter account to once again gaslight the public while feigning that it was some sort of win for him. A Republican lost in KENTUCKY, a red state Trump won by 30 points. The Virginia state government control went fully Democratic for the first time in 2 decades.

Matt Bevin, soon to be the former Republican Governor of Kentucky, was up in the polls by 5 points. Then, Trump held a rally, begging his supporters to vote for the incumbent. Bevin lost, and Democrat Andy Beshear is the presumed winner.

Last night, Trump was in panic-mode trying to spin the loss by fabricating numbers. Trump tweeted that Bevin “picked up at least 15 points. The “president” added, “Fake News will blame Trump!”

At Trump’s Kentucky rally Monday night in Lexington, the former reality show star told a Rupp Arena audience how important the state’s gubernatorial election was for him.

“You’re sending that big message to the rest of the country, it’s so important, you got to get your friends, you got to vote,” Trump said. “Because if you lose, it sends a really bad message. You can’t let that happen to me.”

On Wednesday morning, Trump tweeted that the Kentucky results are somehow a sign that Senate Leader Mitch McConnell will “win BIG” next year.

Twitter users were having none of it.

Former Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele told the Washington Post Bevin losing is “a definite shot across the bow.”

“But losing the governorship is a smack at both Mitch McConnell and the president, sending up a cautionary note,” Steele told the Post. He also said Trump showing up “doesn’t mean an automatic win anymore.”
