Things have been strange with Donald Trump lately.
Now, don’t get me wrong, things are always strange with that guy. However, over the course of the last three years and some change, we’ve gotten used to most of it — the angry outbursts on social media, the slurred words, the narcissism that reaches such insane levels that psychology professionals around the world would pay good money to study it…
However, the behavior coming out of America’s biggest embarrassment in recent weeks has certainly been out of character and exceptionally odd for Donald Trump.
Lately, Trump’s heedless behavior regarding his presidency has kicked into high gear — he doesn’t much seem to care about polls anymore, and even went so far as to seemingly admit that’s he’s going to lose the impending election during his recent Fox News town hall with Sean Hannity.
MSNBC hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski had an extremely interesting theory as to why.
Scarborough theorized that not only is Trump possibly trying to lose the election on purpose but that he may be trying to take the entire Republican part down in flames with him. The MSNBC host noted that his idea was far-fetched, but said he couldn’t think of another reason behind Trump’s behavior.
“This guy that you and I have known for many years, not only is he acting like he doesn’t want to get re-elected, he’s acting like he wants to lose badly and take the Republican party down with him,” Joe stated.
“This looks like a deliberate attempt to drive his campaign into the ground every day,” he continued. “He knows what he is doing is going to lower the poll numbers, and they are. They are collapsing every day.”
Co-host Mika Brzezinski weighed in with her agreement for Joe’s theory, with an added provision of her own.
“He doesn’t want four more years,” Mika said. “That’s clear. You can tell this by his behavior. His attitude towards the health of the American people, he doesn’t want to be there.”
However, she did go on to add that Donald Trump has never been fond of losing and Joe was quick to agree, theorizing that Trump may go the way of Lyndon Johnson in 1968 and withdraw himself from the presidential race before he has a chance to lose.
“This is not a guy who is acting like he expects to be around on January 21st, 2021 in the White House,” Scarborough stated. “And he’s acting like he’s setting everything on fire before he leaves. He’s known when to leave the stage before… I would not be surprised if he left the stage again.”
Of course, there is no way to confirm or deny what’s going on inside Donald Trump’s head. This whole thing stacks up as nothing more than educated speculation at best in the end.
However, there is no denying that something weird is going on with Trump. We can only hope that this has something to do with it.
