George W. Bush Secretly Tried To Make Republicans Confirm Kavanaugh, Dirty Trick Revealed

This is pretty much the most desperate thing I've ever seen the GOP do.

The confirmation of Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh, is major for the future of the Republican Party. The entire party is in shambles thanks to the unhinged, disastrous presidency of Donald Trump, and the November midterm elections look increasingly bleak. The GOP knows that this Supreme Court seat could be the only thing left between them and extinction, so they are resorting to every dirty trick in the book to get Kavanaugh confirmed despite the many sexual assault allegations that are against him.

Even former President George W. Bush knows that someone needs to save the Republican Party and Kavanaugh — and he knows it isn’t going to be Trump. So he took matters into his own hands and resorted to some very disgusting tactics to ensure Kavanaugh gets that SCOTUS seat.

It’s just been revealed that the former POTUS called undecided senators to try and convince them to favor Kavanaugh’s nomination. According to the Washington Post, the politicians that Bush reached out to included Sens. Susan Collins (R-Maine), Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.), Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) and Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), although it’s uncertain if this happened before or after Dr. Christine Blasey Ford’s testimony yesterday.

In the end, the effectiveness of Bush’s little intervention was flawed, as Sen. Flake (who originally said he would vote “yes” on Kavanaugh’s confirmation) requested that the vote be delayed for a week so an FBI investigation could take place. Flake said:

I think it would be proper to delay the floor vote for up to but not more than one week in order to let the FBI to do an investigation limited in time and scope.”

Bush getting himself involved in this mess truly proves that Trump and the GOP have reached a desperate point in the party’s history — and they’re trying to pull out all the stops now.
